Epe witnessed another defining moment in community advancement as the Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government, Hon. (Princess) Surah Olayemi Animashaun, FHTI, officially launched the Renewed Hope Conditional Cash Transfer and Empowerment Programme, a people-centered initiative aimed at tackling poverty and strengthening the economic base of residents.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the empowerment programme, which aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, targets artisans, traders, and small business owners across the local government area.
A total of 100 beneficiaries received ₦100,000 each, and this will be a monthly grants for 20 months, alongside vocational tools such as sewing machines, hair dryers, grinding machines, fishing nets, and safety jackets to enhance self-sufficiency.
Addressing the audience, Hon. Princess Surah Olayemi Animashaun emphasized that real governance is about transforming lives, not merely building infrastructure.
“This administration believes that true governance is not measured by the number of roads we construct alone, but by the number of lives we positively transform,” she said.

“Today’s empowerment is not just a handout; it is a hand up, a push toward self-dependence, dignity, and renewed hope.”
She noted that President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope vision can only be achieved when efforts begin at the grassroots level through empowerment, infrastructural development, and other welfare-driven initiatives.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is committed to eradicating poverty, and that vision begins with the grassroots, through empowerment, infrastructural development, palliatives, and other people-centered programs,” she added.
Encouraging the beneficiaries to make meaningful use of the opportunity, the Chairman urged them to become active participants in the process of change and development.
“I encourage all beneficiaries to make good use of this opportunity so that the real change can begin with you,” she stated.
Princess Animashaun also called on residents to prepare their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to sustain the pace of progress beyond 2027.
“Let us all get our PVCs ready so that the good work can continue beyond 2027,” she advised.
The event attracted community leaders, political stakeholders, and excited residents, all commending the Chairman for her compassion, foresight, and unwavering drive to empower the people of Epe.
