The exercise was carried out following a directive from the Executive Chairman, Engr. Rasaki Bamidele Kasali (MNSE, MNATE).
The clean-up operation covered key areas including Mosa, Lekuru, Aboki Estate, and the 700 Rooms axis, where remnants of demolished structures and other waste materials had posed environmental and health concerns.
Debris from the affected locations was carefully cleared and properly disposed of to restore order and ensure a clean, safe environment for residents.
Speaking on the development, Engr. Kasali reiterated that environmental sanitation remains a core priority of his administration. He noted that the exercise aligns with ongoing initiatives aimed at restoring sanity, improving aesthetics, and preventing health hazards within Lekki LCDA.
“This administration is committed to ensuring a clean, orderly, and healthy environment for all residents,” the Chairman stated. “Clearing debris from demolished illegal structures is necessary to prevent environmental degradation and safeguard public health.”
The Lekki LCDA Environmental Department has assured residents that similar sanitation and clean-up exercises will continue across other parts of the council area, as the administration remains steadfast in its drive toward a cleaner, safer, and healthier Lekki LCDA.
