Micah’s death followed an 11-day battle in the hospital, which began when he was rushed in late December with severe flu complications that quickly escalated into sepsis.

Despite intensive care and life support, Micah sustained critical injuries to his brain, kidneys, and lungs, ultimately leading to his passing.
Paul Kim, who is also father to five other children with his wife Maggie, described the loss as the most painful experience of his life. “Micah went home to the house of Our Father,” he said in the video. “It’s been the hardest thing I’ve ever gone through, and it continues to be.”
The influencer shared that the family fought to give Micah every possible chance, though they were aware that his ultimate recovery might not align with God’s will.
In his last days, Micah remained in a coma, and Paul reflected that while his son’s body was still present, his soul had already returned to the Lord.

Despite the grief, Paul emphasized that Micah’s spirit continues to inspire and uplift those around him. “Now he’s working miracles in heaven,” he said, “and his legacy lives on through his siblings—Audrey, 11, Aiden, 9, Remy, 6, John Paul, 2, and Joey, 18 months.”
In a later video on January 2, Paul shared how he finds comfort amid sorrow: “Even though I’ve been sobbing and weeping, I’ve also been smiling. He’s in heaven now, and he’s up to amazing things.”
The family continues to honor Micah’s memory and draws strength from their faith during this difficult time.
