Ahmad said NIPOF would support program development, infrastructure, entrepreneurship, and the quality of teaching and learning across polytechnic institutions. She highlighted the foundation’s potential to expand industry-focused training, promote internships, fund research with commercial potential, and encourage female participation in technical fields.

“The foundation is not just an institution; it is a movement to reposition polytechnics as engines of creativity that directly respond to industry and societal needs,” Ahmad said, emphasizing the importance of STEMM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Medicine) and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in preparing Nigeria’s workforce for the future.
Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment, Nura Rimi, praised the foundation as a step toward building a skilled workforce and fostering industry partnerships. NBTE Executive Secretary Prof. Idris Bugaje stressed that industrialization would remain slow unless polytechnics are properly equipped and funded, adding that NIPOF provides a non-governmental platform to secure training, equipment, and support for Nigerian polytechnics.
Ahmad assured that the foundation would serve as a catalyst for excellence, innovation, and inclusion, strengthening Nigeria’s technical education system and aligning with national development goals.
