Popular highlife and Afrobeats star Flavour has finally spoken out following claims on social media that he has failed to support emerging Igbo musicians.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the controversy began after an online user identified as Charles accused the singer of concentrating solely on his personal brand while allegedly turning his back on struggling talents from the South-East region.

The critic argued that many gifted Igbo artistes are battling to survive in the competitive music industry due to what he described as a lack of mentorship and support from established stars.

He further alleged that Flavour has neither signed, promoted, nor collaborated with upcoming musicians from the region.
Charles also questioned Flavour’s association with controversial cleric and entertainer Odumeje, insisting that such collaborations do little to uplift young creatives. According to him, top Igbo artistes deliberately avoid working with new talents out of fear that they may one day surpass them.
The accusations sparked heated debates online, with some users echoing the claims while others defended the singer’s long-standing contributions to the industry.
Responding to the criticism, Flavour dismissed the allegations and advised the accuser to channel his energy into building opportunities for others instead of blaming established artistes.

The singer encouraged him to focus on financial growth and create his own platform to support young talents.
“I have given you people one serious advice for the new year. Jee chuba ego o. Chuta ego then start your own label make you help the wonderfully talented Igbo boys scattered all over. Make us proud Odogwu Charles,” Flavour wrote, effectively shutting down the claims.
