The National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), David Mark, and the party’s National Secretary, Rauf Aregbesola, have criticised the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State, accusing the administration of poor performance ahead of Saturday’s governorship election.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the party leaders spoke on Thursday during the ADC mega rally in Ado-Ekiti held in support of the party’s governorship candidate, Ambassador Dare Bejide.

Addressing party supporters, Mark urged residents of the state to vote for the ADC, describing the party as the best alternative to improve governance and the welfare of the people.

He appealed to voters to support Bejide at the polls, expressing confidence that the candidate would deliver the kind of leadership Ekiti residents desire.
Mark also said the ADC remained committed to rescuing the state from poverty and providing better opportunities for its citizens.
Speaking at the rally, Aregbesola faulted the performance of the APC-led government in the state, insisting that Governor Biodun Oyebanji and the ruling party had not done enough to deserve another term.
The former Osun State governor dismissed suggestions that the ADC lacked the strength to challenge the APC, saying the election would reveal the true popularity of the parties.

He maintained that the ADC would emerge victorious if the election was conducted in a free and transparent manner, while alleging that the ruling party could only retain power through manipulation.
Aregbesola urged party supporters to remain committed throughout the election and encouraged women to turn out in large numbers to vote for the ADC and ensure that their votes counted.
The ADC leaders expressed optimism that the party would record victory in Saturday’s governorship election if the process reflected the genuine choice of the electorate.
