TESCOM Commences Induction Programme For Newly Appointed Sec. School Teachers
The Lagos Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), on Tuesday, commenced a weeklong induction programme for the newly appointed secondary school teachers into the State Teaching Service.
The Chairman, Teaching Service Commission, Mrs. Olabisi Ariyo, stated that the induction was organised for the recently recruited 1000 secondary school teachers in line with the present administration’s resolve to improve the standard of education in the State.
She explained that the induction exercise was to properly integrate the new appointees into the educational system of the State, while also equipping them with modern standard methodologies of teaching and learning so as to impact positively on students.
According to her, after the induction, the appointees will be handed over to their various Tutors-General/ Permanent Secretaries for further posting to the various secondary schools within the State for their primary assignments.

The induction is expected to hold simultaneously at three centres from Tuesday 11th to Saturday 16th February 2020, namely the Teaching Service Staff Development Centre, Owutu, Ikorodu, New Era Girls’ Secondary School Surulere and Awori–Ifelodun Senior High School, Agboju.
Ariyo emphasised that the new recruits will have a positive impact on the students in fulfilment of government’s intention of improving secondary school education to internationally accepted standards.
