The streets of Epe came alive on Thursday as hundreds of young people participated in the 2026 Kayokayo Youth Rally, a major highlight of activities marking the 175th edition of the Kayokayo Festival.
Organised by the Epe Youth Forum, the rally was held under the theme, “Epe Youth for Peace: Securing Our Streets, Shaping Our Future, United as One.” The event sought to promote peaceful coexistence, youth engagement, and community development.

Eko Hot Blog reports that the rally commenced from the Late Olu of Epe’s Palace and proceeded through major streets in the community before ending at the Marina Waterfront. Along the route, participants paid courtesy visits to several Baales, high chiefs, and other prominent personalities in Epe, seeking their blessings and reaffirming the youths’ commitment to peace and progress.
Addressing the gathering, Comrade Giwa Moore called on the youths and residents of Epe Kingdom to remain united, describing peace as the foundation for sustainable growth and development.
He urged members of the community to see one another as members of one family, stressing that collective efforts were needed to prevent every form of conflict capable of disrupting the peace of the kingdom.
“We must remain united as one big family and do everything within our power to curb any form of conflict in our community. It is only in an atmosphere of peace that meaningful progress and development can thrive,” he said.
Comrade Moore noted that the future of Epe rests largely on the commitment of its young people to promote harmony, mutual respect, and responsible leadership.
He encouraged youths to channel their energy toward initiatives that would foster development, strengthen community bonds, and preserve the rich cultural heritage of Epe Kingdom.
The rally also featured an awareness walk, interactions with community leaders, and messages promoting peaceful coexistence, reflecting the enduring values of the Kayokayo Festival.
Participants described the event as an opportunity to demonstrate that the youth remain committed to safeguarding the peace of Epe while contributing positively to the continued growth and prosperity of the kingdom.
