Nigerian Calendar Prodigy, Siju Receives Scholarship From Digital World Forum
Siju Olawepo, a Nigerian boy who has an innate ability to know the day for any date on the calender, dates as far back as the 16th century has been offered scholarship to purse a programme in Information Technology.
Ekohotblog reports the scholarship was awarded when a delegate of Digital World Forum led by the Director of National Broadcast Academy, Engineer Abiola Ajibola visited Carol Nursery & Primary School in Lagos where the young boy currently schools.
The scholarship covers a training on Machine Language & Coding sponsored by TRACK IT, a Microsoft Authorised Education Partner. Other items presented to Siju included a Book on Artificial Intelligence for young ones authored by Dr. Bayo Adekambi of MTN. The package also included DWF branded exercise books, biscuits and chocolates for Siju and his class mates.
Speaking during the presentation, Engnr. Abiola Ajibola described Siju as a genius in the class of great scientists like Albert Einstein, Isaac Newton, Archimedes, Thomas Edison and others whose works have impacted humanity tremendously. He emphasized the need for Siju to be supported, encouraged and stimulated so that more of the stuff he is made of can be birthed.
In their seperate remarks, the Proprietress, Headmistress, Staff, Siju’s parents & grandma expressed appreciation to the visiting team. The Proprietress, Mrs Carol Akintunji, described the visit as the greatest thing that will ever happen to the school.
Siju became an internet sensation when the nine-year-old genius was videod providing corresponding day to any date he is given almost faster than an internet search engine.
Once Siju is given a date, he tells the corresponding day of the week and he also doesn’t forget any date he knows. He can tell the particular day of the week anyone was born.
