- Ikosi-Ejirin LCDA has inaugurated a new NSCDC divisional office in Lagos

The Ikosi-Ejirin Local Council Development Area (LCDA) has inaugurated and handed over a newly constructed divisional office, an operational bus and a motorcycle to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) to strengthen security operations across the council area.
The facility, located in Ikosi-Ejirin, Agbowa, Lagos State, was delivered through the efforts of the Executive Chairman of the LCDA, Dr. Akogun Wale Anomo, in collaboration with the Ayandelu of Odo-Ayandelu Kingdom, Oba Ganiu Aderibigbe Asunmo (Jamade I), Eko Hot Blog gathered.
Speaking during the handover ceremony, the Commandant General of the NSCDC, Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, expressed appreciation to the council, the traditional institution and residents of Ikosi-Ejirin for supporting the Corps with critical infrastructure and operational equipment.
Represented by the Lagos State Commandant of the NSCDC, Adedotun Keshinro, Audi described the project as a demonstration of confidence in the Corps and its responsibility to protect lives and property.
He said the new divisional office would improve intelligence gathering, enhance emergency response and strengthen collaboration between security personnel and members of the community.
Keshinro urged residents to make use of the facility by reporting security concerns promptly, adding that officers deployed to the division would remain committed to professionalism and effective service delivery.
In his remarks, Anomo said security remains one of the key priorities of his administration, stressing that meaningful development can only be achieved in a peaceful environment.
He noted that the partnership between the local government, traditional rulers and security agencies had continued to improve the security architecture of the council area, creating a safer atmosphere for residents and businesses.
The council chairman reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting security agencies with the resources needed to tackle emerging security challenges and safeguard lives and public assets.
Also speaking, the Ayandelu of Odo-Ayandelu Kingdom, Oba Ganiu Aderibigbe Asunmo, commended the council for completing the project and providing operational vehicles to improve the mobility of security personnel.
The monarch urged officers of the new NSCDC division to justify the confidence placed in them by intensifying efforts to combat crime and maintain peace across communities within the council area.
The event attracted top government officials, traditional rulers from neighbouring communities, representatives of security agencies and other stakeholders, highlighting the growing collaboration between local authorities and security institutions to enhance community safety in Ikosi-Ejirin.
