Students Are No Longer Interested In Science Subjects –Minister Cries Out
The rate at which Nigerian students lose interest in science related subjects is becoming worrisome.
While addressing the students, on Monday during the final examination of the Young Nigerian Scientists Presidential Award programme, Minister of Science and Technology, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu said a decreased interest had been discovered in science related subjects and courses.
The reason for such reluctancy is that the subjects are difficult to learn and assimilate.
However the Ministry of Science and Technology intends to tighten its seat belt and address the situation through it’s initiative, ‘Catching them Young ’.
