FCCPC Holds Public Hearing On Moradeun's Death

The Federal Competition And Consumer protection Council (FCCPC) has opened a public inquiry into the death of Moradeun Balogun, who was stabbed to death on her way from work.

Ekohotblog reported that on December 2, 2019, the late Moradeun was robbed and stabbed in the neck at Gbagada in Lagos. She was assisted and transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention.

However, it was alleged that she wasn’t attended to, which eventually led to her death.

On December 4, 2019, the FCCPC opened an investigation to determine possible violation(s) of applicable standards under prevailing laws.

In a statement by FCCPC, the agency said that the purpose of the inquiry is to determine if any systemic failure exists that culminated in her death as well as provide solutions to such failures.

The death of Moradeun created a lot of buzz on and off social media as Nigerians called on the appropriate authorities to ensure that her preventable death was not in vain.

This online news platform earlier reported that a member House of Representative, Epe Federal Constituency, Hon. Olawale Raji, paid a condolence visit to the family of the deceased and also called for an investigation into the matter on the floor of the floor of the House of Representatives.
