10 Dead As Lagos COVID 19 Cases Pass 250
Update from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control on Thursday evening showed that Lagos has the highest coronavirus cases in the country as not less than 251 persons have been infected with coronavirus in Lagos State.
Among the 250 infected persons, 10 are dead, according to statistics from the state government.
NCDC announced that Lagos recorded 19 new cases in addition to the 232 confirmed infections previously recorded in the state.
It tweeted, “Thirty-five new cases of #COVID19 have been reported as follows: 19 in Lagos, nine in FCT, five in Kano and two in Oyo.

“As of 10:20 pm on the 16th of April, there are 442 confirmed cases of #COVID-19 reported in Nigeria. 152 have been discharged with 13 deaths.
“Number of states with confirmed cases of #COVID19: 19 + FCT. Currently, Lagos has 251 cases, FCT- 67, Kano- 21, Osun- 20, Edo- 15, Oyo- 13, Ogun- nine, Katsina- seven, Bauchi- six, Kaduna- six, Akwa Ibom- six, Kwara- four, Delta- four, Ondo- three, Enugu- two, Ekiti- two, Rivers- two, Niger- two, Benue- one and Anambra- one.”
The state Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, made this known, saying that they died of Coronavirus-related complications.
Abayomi, through his Twitter account, said the deceased were males and aged 51, 52 and 62.
He said that one of the deceased was a medical doctor that had contact with an infected person who recently returned to the country.
Barely 24 hours after the state recorded its seventh COVID-19 related death, the Lagos State Government on Thursday declared the death of three male patients.
