Abba Kyari’s Burial: Presidency Advises Journalists To Self-isolate

The presidency has advised all State House correspondents who were present at the burial of the late Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Abba Kyari, to self-isolate for 14 days.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Deputy Director, Information, State House, Attah Esa on Sunday.

He said the journalists in attendance were advised to self-isolate for two weeks as a precautionary measure.

The statement read: “As a precautionary measure, all State House correspondents and Media Office Staff who covered/attended the funeral prayer/burial ceremony of the late Chief of Staff, at Defence House and Gudu Cemetery Abuja, respectively, are strongly advised to work from home for the next 14 days.
“Please, be careful to observe the recommended measures to prevent the coronavirus transmission, including maintaining physical distancing and good personal hygiene going forward.”

Some presidential aides including Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu; the National Security Adviser, NSA, Babagana Monguno and Director-General of National Intelligence Agency, NIA, Ahmed Rufa’i were on Saturday barred from entering State House after attending the burial of the late Chief of Staff.
