COVID-19: Epe Youth Council Of Nigeria Distributes Relief Materials, Organise Public Awareness On Coronavirus Pandemic
National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Epe Branch, on Thursday, carried out a public awareness campaign on measures to curtail the spread of coronavirus pandemic in Epe community.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the awareness was carried out in collaboration with Civil Society Organization, Lagos State.
According to Lagos State Government, Epe Local Government is part of the three local government that has not been affected by the deadly pandemic.
Therefore, public awareness was staged in furtherance to ensure the safety of Epe people and need to adhere strictly to the lockdown order.
In lieu of this, the youth council deemed-it-fit to sensitize the people of Epe so has to avoid the possibility of recording any case of the deadly pandemic in Epe jurisdiction.
Eko Hot Blog also reports that the awareness campaign had in attendance no fewer than 10 individuals who represented different organization under the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Epe Branch.
Eko Hot Blog correspondent mentioned the areas visited by the youth council, which includes; the Oloja and Olu Epe palace, Oluwo Fish Market, Ayetoro Market and other major highways within the community.
In an interview with the Coordinator of the Youth Council, Comrade Ladele Ismail, emphasizes the need for the people to stay indoor, stating that the widespread virus doesn’t respect any human race.
He noted that it is understandable that some individuals are met to provide essential services to the community but further appeal to people in such category to get their personal hand gloves and nose mask.
Also, to maintain social distancing, wash their hands frequently with clean water and soap and also use hand sanitizer.
He urged the Youths in the community to desist from all kinds of illegal activities as this will soil their integrity and debar them from future opportunities.

Ladele frowned at criminal activities perpetrated by hoodlums in the community under the disguise of hunger.
Mr Felix Johnson, a resident, appreciated the youth council developmental Initiative.
Johnson lamented at the ugly attitude of the hoodlums, adding that, they do not take pandemic serious.
“I believe this awareness will awaken their consciousness and will make them adhere strictly to the government order, in other to curtail the spread of the deadly COVID-19.
Similarly, the council also distributed relief materials worth thousands of naira to the member of the public in the community.
This was done to bring succour to the downtrodden and less privileged in Epe community during this era of COVID-19 pandemic.
According to the Council Coordinator, Comrade Ladele Ismail, he said that the only way to comply to lockdown order is to provide the citizens with food and relief materials, as they have been deprived of there daily means of survival.
He said that, as law-abiding citizens, It is important to comply with the government order, as a means of complementing government efforts in the fight against the deadly pandemic in our society.
