Nigerian Student From Kano Locked Up In Ugandan Isolation Centre Despite Testing Negative For Coronavirus

Published

on

A Nigerian student identified as Muhammad Sani Adams from Kano has been locked up in a Ugandan isolation centre even after testing negative for Coronavirus.

He was first stopped by Ugandan immigration officers on his way to Kenya to board Kenyan Airways to Nigeria.

The officers now demanded a bribe of 3m shillings (N300k).

As a student, he could not afford it and they proceeded to arrest him and later took him to a hospital for Coronavirus checks where he tasted negative.

On Monday, April 20, 2020, he was discharged but the immigration officers refused to collect him from the hospital and doctors won’t let him leave.

His repeated pleas to be  to be released have been ignored.

Muhammad  is hale and hearty. He’s being maltreated because he isn’t Ugandan, but a Nigerian.
