COVID-19: Sanwo-Olu Issues New Date Of Resumption For Lagos Civil Servants
The Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has issued a new directive on when civil servants in Lagos should resume back to work.
It would be recalled that the governor had, in circular issued by the state Head of service, Muri Okunola, approved Monday, 4th of May, as resumption date for all civil servants in the state.
But the state government on Sunday came up with a new arrangement, which is an ammendment of the earlier directive, that saw to the change of the resumption date.

Governor Sanwo-Olu during a press briefing on Sunday ordered the civil servants not to resume back to work again Today ( Monday).

He, however, asked those in level 15 and above to resume on Tuesday.
Other amendements of the earlier directive are the days of the week food and non food markets are allowed to open.
In the amendment, food market will now operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, while other non food markets will open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays

The governor directs Banks to open with strict adherence to all rules of hygiene and social distancing, ensure that their ATM machines are well sanitised and possibly provide means of transport for their staff
He added that eateries and restaurants will now open from 9am to 7pm, because of Ramadan, with strict compliance with the Take-away packs and Order directive, no one must eat out in their eatery.
On vehicles confiscated during the lockdown, the governor said those whose vehicles were impounded on or before 14th of April will be able to get their seized vehicles back starting from today (Monday)
He also disclosed that distribution of face masks would begin today which would be followed by enforcement of mandatory use of it in public places.
Operators of commercial vehicles will operate between 6am to 7pm, noting that further guidelines will be released to the press
As part of it efforts to enforce compliance with the new directive, the governor said the state has put in place toll free numbers for residents to call to report cases of violation of these directives, stressing that strict monitoring will be embarked on.
