COVID-19: Epe Teachers Hails TG/PS, Dr. Ayandele, On The Impact Of Online Teachers Training

Considering the danger and complexity of where we find ourselves as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, which has altered and affected us personally and professionally.

Requiring new skills to function optimally but in the interest of finding sustainable solutions.

Especially, in empowering teachers to be more impactful, create cutting edge and tools for adequate teaching and professional development.

The Lagos State Government has set up a Support Team of Technology Professionals to support the teaching workforce in its Education Transformation Agenda and commences operation of Digital platforms for Capacity Development of Post-Primary Teachers in the state.

It is on this evolution that, The Lagos State Education District III, under the leadership of Dr. Mrs. Olufunmilayo Ayandele, TG/PS, commenced the operation of Digital Platforms for Capacity Development of students and teachers in her jurisdiction.

Speaking on the E-Learning Training, Educon Program Organised by Digismart.ng by Mr. Bamidele Patrict Nwafor.

Some of the teachers from the Epe Division, under Lagos State Education District III, who acquired the training expressed satisfaction over the online program.

A teacher, Mr. Ademola Olufowobi, told Eko Hot Blog, that the training was an eye-opener to him.

He said that the over one-week program has exposed him to global teaching and learning trend.

“I am happy to be part of the beneficiary of the training program, ” he said.

Olufowobi, however, commended the Tutor General, Education District III, Dr. Olufunmilayo Ayandele, for her proactiveness and doggedness in ensuring sustainability in the education sector.

The TG/PS has been on the beck and call of both the teachers and students to ensure that education did not cease but continue, despite the COVID-19 challenges.

Also, Mr. Amosu Segun Abraham, a Classroom teacher, said that the online experience was challenging and touch.

He said that it was a difficult experience for those that are not ICT compliance but flexible for those who have basic knowledge of computer.

Abraham said that above all, It was a wonderful and sweet experience, as it added more knowledge and widen their horizon.

Speaking further, Mr. Olugbenga Cecilia Ironyinayo, a teacher, said that no new innovation that doesn’t come with its own challenges.

He said that E-learning training has exposed them to so many things that can be done online.

“I have learned how to do graphics designing online. I have also comprehended how to compute and process data online.

“Above all, we have learned how to impart knowledge to students online with adequate feedback based on their assessment.

“This is a brilliant innovation and a better opportunity for us as teachers to improve our skills and boost our ICT knowledge.

“Thanks to Lagos State Government for such innovation and to all partnering ICT companies that supported such initiatives, ” he said.
