PCRC Epe Holds A-Day Road Walk On Sensitisation/Awareness Of Covid-19
The Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Epe Chapter, on Saturday, held a-day walk, sensitizing the people of the community on how to curb the spread of Covid-19.
The Chairman of the committee, Mr Dele Ogunbekun while addressing Journalists on the sideline, stated that the association was founded some years ago with the primary aim of making peace among the people in the Epe division of Lagos State.
He further said, “Today’s walk is to support the efforts of the government of Lagos State led by Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu on its bid to curb the spread coronavirus.

“We are sensitizing our people that covid-19 is real and the battle is not over yet.
“Our sincere advise to the people is to continue to adhere strictly to all the precautionary measures by the federal, state and local governments in order to win the battle together, ” he said.
Also, Mr Kasim Dosunmu, the General Secretary of the committee, stated that, the Lagos State Government has sensitised all Lagos residents to carry out the 8-simple steps to follow in order to contain the pandemic.
He stressed further that “we should make use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Always.
“We all need to comply with this in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
“If we must travel from a state to another or a country to another, we need to isolate ourselves for 14days and if any symptom related to the virus is discovered, we need not hesitate to call on emergency for rescue, “he said.
However, the Deputy Operation Road Committee, Mr Adeyemi Amele commended the move by the PCRC by sensitizing the people on the reality of covid-19.
He said”I acknowledge the steps taken by the executives and members of PCRC on the sensitization to curb the spread of covid-19”.
“From our own ends, I have instructed all drivers and passengers to take the measures into cognisance as well as the physical distancing policy of the government by passengers in our vehicles.
“We are fighting this battle together and we shall surely win together, ” he said.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the walk took off from the Epe Divisional Police Station at 9:00am and rounded off at the T-junction, Epe at 12:00pm with the visits to the two royal fathers, HRM Oba Shefiu Olatunji Adewale, Olu-Epe of Epe Kingdom and HRM Oba Kamorudeen Ishola Animashaun, the Oloja of Epeland.
NAN also reports that all the committee members took their time to sensitize the motor/trycycle riders, motorists and traders on how to curb the spread of covid-19.
With the use of face mask, washing hands with running water and making sure that they always maintain the physical distancing policy of the government.
