Police Arrest Ebonyi NUJ Chairman
The Nigerian Police Force has reportedly arrested the Chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists(NUJ), Ebonyi State chapter, Comrade Tony Nwizi.
The chairman alleged arrest was followed by the directives issued by the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, according to report.
Police spokesperson in the state, Loveth Odah, who reacted to the arrest, however, said she cannot categorically pinpoint the location of the Policemen who made the arrest of Nwizi.

“I know some policemen came into Ebonyi yesterday from Anti-Kidnaping Unit of Lagos State Police Command. They wanted their papers to be signed so that they can affect an arrest.
“We are still on the matter, in order to confirm if he was the one that they came for. The identity of whoever they came for is not usually disclosed.”
The Nation reported that a reliable source said Nwizi’s arrest was based on a petition written by some unknown personnel.
