Breaking!!! Anxiety in Lagos State As Over 200 Medical Doctors Contract COVID-19
There is much apprehension in Lagos State as not less than 200 medical doctors are reported to have been infected with the dreaded Corona Virus while attending to the victims of the disease.
The disclosure was made in Lagos by the Medical Guild while expressing displeasure over the State Government derogatory remarks regarding the on-going industrial action by the state medical doctors.

In a statement which was jointly signed by Dr. Oluwajimi Sodipo and Dr. Ismail Ajibowo, the Association’s Chairman and its Secretary on Tuesday revealed that the government was not unaware of their plights and decried while all members of the professional in the state are committed to their duties, quite a good number of their colleagues who have tested positive for the virus have transmitted it to their family members; a situation which they say must be urgently addressed.
The Guild equally accused the state government in its attempt to present the members of the professional body in the state as being unethical in their professional dealings and projecting a blurred picture that the strike was championed by only a few self-centered members of the Association when the strike was borne out of the desire to agitate for the well-being of its members and entire Lagosians who are deprived of enjoying good medical services.
The state further revealed that the Guild has been agitating rapid testing for all health care workers and patients admitted in different health facilities as this was entirely necessary if the government honestly had the interest of its citizens, a reason that necessitated the industrial action the Medical Body.
The Association statement is coming a day after the Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotosho issued a press remark reproving the decision of the medical personnel to embark on strike when the state is gravely battling with COVID-19 pandemic as he accused Medical Association making frivolous demands as the government has always given a listening ear to their yearnings and agitations.
It is, therefore, necessary for both the government and healthcare workers to put all hands on deck in making sure that a harmonized decision is reached between the two parties so that the lives of helpless Lagosians do not become an experimenting ground for the two-fighting elephants.
