Arotile’s Ex-Classmate Had No Driver’s License – Report

Following investigations over the death of Flying Officer Tolulope Arotile, fresh facts have emerged that the ex-classmate who knocked down Tolulope had no valid driving license.

It was recalled that the Nigeria Air Force had announced on Tuesday that the country’s first female combat helicopter pilot died from head injuries sustained from an accident at the NAF base in Kaduna State.

According to the report, she was knocked by the reversing vehicle of Tolulope’s former Air-force secondary school classmate who wanted to greet her.

Quoting military sources on Saturday, Channels Television reported that the sources said the driver is a civilian.

The source said, the driver, accompanied by his friends, had visited his relations at the Air Force base located in Mando area of Kaduna metropolis on the day of the incident.

It added that upon interrogation, the driver and former classmate, who is now in custody with another occupant of the vehicle, has no valid driver’s license.

Meanwhile, NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola, announced that the flying officer, Arotile would be buried on Thursday, July 23, at the National Military Cemetery, Abuja, with full military honours.

Arotile, a member of the Nigerian Defence Academy Regular Course 64, died at 24.

Before her death, she was Nigeria first-ever female helicopter combat pilot.

She was also a squadron leader in Operation Gama Aiki in Minna Niger State.
