A Battle Of Wills As PDP Supporters Fight To Satisfy Hunger And Fuel Their Passion For Upcoming Election

Some PDP supporters were seen fighting over food on Delta Campaign grounds.

EKO HOT BLOG gathered that information has emerged that some supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State were reported to have been fighting ushers for cooked rice on Thursday at a campaign ground in Asaba, the state capital.

Some PDP supporters struggled with ushers who were meant to cater to dignitaries at the event for the cooked rice packed in polythene bags.

According to the reports, the PDP supporters were on the campaign ground since around 10:00 am, awaiting the arrival of PDP vice presidential candidate and state governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, as well as the party’s governorship candidate, Sheriff Oborevwori.

However, the situation took a turn for the worse when they were denied food as the ushers seemed to only be catering for the dignitaries at the event.

This situation, according to Punch, led to the struggle between ushers and supporters for the rice said to have been packed in polythene bags.

It was learnt that the situation erupted into a fight between the ushers and the supporters as the bags of cooked rice were torn into pieces.

The development was said to have drawn the attention of dignitaries and interrupted the governorship candidate who was giving his remark at the campaign ground.

However, the PDP vice presidential candidate and Delta State governor, Okowa reacted to the situation blaming the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for plunging the nation into hunger.

Okowa submitted after calm was restored at the campaign ground, “It is the APC that brought hunger to us. A bag of rice was N8,000 before the APC came to power; now a bag of rice is 48,000.

“Everything has gone down in Nigeria since the APC came to power. You know my political history, it is God that made it possible.

“As Atiku picked me as a vice presidential candidate, God has finished His work in me because I know we will win the 2023 election.”

Oborevwori, who was earlier interrupted while giving his remark, promised to consolidate Okowa’s achievements if elected as the governor.
