A Glorious Exit as Lagos Accountant-General Celebrates Mother, Sariu Akanke Muritala During 8th Day Fidau Prayer

The state of the art Epe Jubilee Chalet situated in the Fish Basket of Lagos played host to the top brass of Lagos during the 8th day fidau prayer of Madam Sariu Akanke Muritala, the mother of Lagos State Accountant General, Shefiu Abiodun Muritala.

The event which took place on Saturday 27th March, 2021, was attended by top officials of Lagos State Government Secretariat, Alausa-Ikeja, Captains of industries, political juggernauts, Lawmakers, Local Government Chairmen, Officials of Ministries, Departments and Agencies, family members, friends and wells wishers, who all turned out resplendently to grace the occasion.

As gathered by EKO HOT BLOG, Alhaji Akanni Seriki Bamu, Lagos APC GAC member, Hon Wale Raji, Lawmaker representing Epe Federal Constituency, Hon Abiodun Tobun, Member representing Epe Constituency I, Lagos State House of Assembly, Mr Tokunbo Wahab, Special Adviser on Education, High Chief Wale Mogaji, Chairman, Lagos State House of Assembly Commission, Hon Segun Olulade, former Lawmaker representing Epe Constituency II, Hon SA Shittu, Permanent Board Member, Lagos SUBEB and many other notable personalities graced the event to honour the Accountant General.

It was a fitting celebration of the glorious exit of an accomplished and loving mother, an icon of unparalleled moral virtues, benevolence and discipline.

Prominent members of society whose lives she affected positively all attested to the decent life Madam Sariu Muritala lived by virtue of her trade particularly her love for children and young people in general.

Hon Adedoyin Adesanya, who spoke on behalf of Local Government and LCDA Chairmen in Epe, extolled the virtues of the late nonagenarian.

“Madam Sariu Muritala was a caring and God-fearing woman who loved all her subordinates and immediate family members. She embraced everyone around her. Mama was a big fan of education who went to any length to get her children quality education. She’s prayerful and contented. I admonish the children to emulate her enviable legacies,” he stated.

While the awestricken Accountant General and his dashing looking wife were overwhelmed with stream of VIP guests, they sure rocked the dance floor with dance steps to melodious songs and cool beats from a popular juju music band. Guests were however treated to varieties of delectable dishes and appetizing drinks.

Earlier in the day at her Ita-Osugbo residence, government officials, family members, friends and associates of the Accountant General graced the 8th day Fidau prayers. The prayer was officiated under the spiritual leadership of the Grand Chief Imam, Epe Central Mosque, Ita-Opo, Alhaji Sheikh Abdu-Lateef Oladapo Ayeogbaro and other notable Imams and Alfas in the community. They prayed to almighty Allah to repose her soul after recitations and sermonic lectures from the holy Quran.
