‘A Quintessential Politician’ – Hon. Wale Raji Mourns Chief Olayemi

Lawmaker representating Epe federal constituency at the house of representatives, honourable Wale Raji, has described the death of All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Chief A.G Olayemi in Epe as rude shock.

The Epe born politician died on Saturday, January 9, at the age of 88.

The late octogenarian, who was the pioneer Chairman of Eredo LCDA and Vice Chairman of Epe Local Government, was laid to rest at 2pm yesterday according to Islamic rites.

In a statement on Sunday, Raji described Olayemi as an exceptional administrator whose political acumen and keen intellect reflected positively on Epe.

Raji noted that former Ward J1 Apex leader was a man of proper standing who stood head and shoulders above his contemporaries.

He said the APC stalwart was a disciplinarian who always stood for the greater good of all and never compromise what was right, adding that he spent his life advancing the cause of humanity.

“He was a selfless and altruistic leaders whose benevolent disposition had a lasting impact in the life of Epe residents, his indelible will forever be ingrained in the sands of time and posterity will certainly be kind with him because of what he did for Epe” The statement read

“One of those who came into politics in Epe Division with value, with a successful career in the oil and gas industry as regional manager of the defunct National Oil before coming into politics and in every area of his endeavour, he recorded every success.

“As the manager in the oil and gas, he rose to the depth of regional manager before engaging as perm sec in the Teaching Service Commission which he also excel.

” As Pioneer Chairman of Eredo LCDA, he laid a solid foundation which succeeding administration built on.

” We can say that he lived a life well spent.

“I condole with the family and i pray that the Almighty God give them the fortitude to bear the loss”
