Aaron Ramsdale began his professional football career at Sheffield United before transferring to Bournemouth on January 31, 2017.
He had loan stints at Chesterfield FC and AFC Wimbledon before returning to his boyhood club, Sheffield United, on August 19, 2021.
During his second spell at Sheffield United, the 26-year-old English goalkeeper performed so well that Arsenal chose to sign him for €28 million on August 20, 2021.
Ramsdale quickly became a standout at Arsenal, earning the role of first-choice goalkeeper in his debut season.
He made 78 appearances over his first two seasons.
Ramsdale wonderful safe at Anfield last season
The 2022-2023 season was arguably the pinnacle of his football career,.
When he guided Arsenal in a fierce battle for the Premier League title, ultimately falling short to Manchester City.
However, his fortunes declined ahead of the 2023-2024 season when coach Mikel Arteta opted to bring in Spanish goalkeeper David Raya on loan from Brentford.
Raya’s loan deal included an option for a permanent transfer, which both the goalkeeper and Arsenal are inclined to pursue due to his impressive form at the club.
Notably, Raya won the Premier League Golden Glove this season after recording 13 clean sheets for the Gunners.
Consequently, Ramsdale has reportedly accepted that he may never reclaim his position as Arsenal’s goalkeeper under coach Mikel Arteta, who appears to favor Raya over any other keeper.
Ramsdale has only made six Premier League appearances for Arsenal this season.
And that pattern could persist if he stays at the club next season.

According to a report by Sky Sports, Arsenal are prepared to let Aaron Ramsdale depart if he decides to.
Hence, the English star is receptive to leaving the Emirates Stadium this summer.
Newcastle United are reportedly leading the race to secure the signature of the 25-year-old goalkeeper.
With indications pointing towards a potential deal being finalized in the first week of the summer transfer window.
