Eko Hot Blog reports that the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr. Tajudeen Abbas, has appointed Rep. Wale Raji of the Epe Federal Constituency, Lagos State, as the Chairman of the House Welfare Committee.
The speaker made the announcement on Thursday in Abuja.
The Welfare Committee, which Raji will chair, is one of the seven special committees that Abbas constituted for the coordination of legislative activities.
Other committees include the Ethics and Privileges Committee, Internal Security Committee, Media Committee, Selection Committee, Legislative Agenda Committee, and the Rules and Business Committee.
Rep. Tunji Olawuyi (APC-Kwara) will lead the Ethics and Privileges Committee, while Rep. Mohammed Danjum will chair the Internal Security Committee.
Furthermore, the Selection Committee will be chaired by the speaker, while the Media Committee will be headed by Rep. Buka Ibrahim (APC-Yobe).
Finally, the Legislative Agenda Committee will be chaired by Prof Julius Ihonbvare (APC-Edo), while the Rules and Business Committee, will be led by Rep. Igariwey Iduma (PDP-Ebonyi).
The committees’ constitution comes days after the 10th House of Representatives was inaugurated.
