EKO HOT BLOG reports that barely 24 hours after he was kidnapped, Catholic priest, Reverend Father Emmanuel Silas has been set free by his abductors.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Chancellor of Kafanchan diocese Reverend Father Emmanuel Okolo, a copy made available on Tuesday in Kaduna.
Reverend Father Okolo, said that the Catholic priest who was abducted by armed persons from his rectory at Saint Charles Catholic Church Zambina, in Kauru Local Government of Kaduna State in the early hours of Monday was released at 9:00pm same day barely 24 hours after his abduction.
The Chancellor thanked everyone who had offered prayers for the quick and safe return of Father Emmanuel Silas, and also prayed for the release of others who are still in the kidnapers’ den.

He however disclosed that in view of the safe return of Father Emmanuel Silas, the diocese has directed all priests to hold a Mass of thanksgiving on Tuesday, 5th July, 2022.
