Abducted Family Members Of Former Zamfara Commissioner, Released After N5m Ransom

Four family members of a former Zamfara State Commissioner, Hon. Bello Dankande Gamji have been released after the payment of N5 million ransom.

The former commissioner said that the kidnapped victims were released on Sunday and immediately taken to the Federal Medical Centre, Gusau, for medical checks.

“We saw that they all look healthy but we are not medical experts, that is why we find it very imperative to take them to the hospital considering the nature of the place where they were kept by the kidnappers.

The former commissioner commended all those who sympathised with his family and also commended the security agencies for their concern.

It could be recalled that the former commissioner’s children and his guard were abducted by kidnappers last Tuesday and demanded of N10 million for their freedom.

The commissioner reportedly paid N5 million to secure the release of the kidnapped victims.
