EKO HOT BLOG reports that four students of Nasarawa State University who were kidnapped on Monday have reportedly regained their freedom.
This news medium understands that the students were released by bandits and are currently at the Headquarters of the 177 Guards Battalion of the Nigerian Army in Keffi, the Nasarawa state capital.
The students, Rahila Hanya (SLT 100 level), Josephine Gershon (Computer Science 100 level), Rosemary Samuel (Business Administration 100 level) and Goodness Samuel (Geography 100 level), were abducted from their off-campus residence near Angwan Kare after BCG at about 10:30 p.m. on Monday.
However, the Secretary General of the Nasarawa State Youths Forum for Advocacy, Muhammed Sakilu Muhammed, confirmed the release of the students.
In a statement on Thursday made available to journalists, Muhammed said an undisclosed ransom was paid for the release of the students.
He said: “We are pleased to inform you that the four students from Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), who were kidnapped have been reportedly released today. This development follows the payment of an undisclosed ransom.”
