Sporting Lagos secured promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) prior to this season and showed early promise as the campaign began.
Unfortunately, things went sour for the Lagos-based club in the later stage of the campaign as they continued to lose games more often than expected.
Sporting Lagos have played 32 league games this season, with 11 wins, 8 draws, and 13 defeats.
They currently hold the 11th position on the league table with 41 points, maintaining a five-point gap from the relegation zone.

Because of the club’s disappointing beginning this season, the management opted to dismiss Coach Paul Offor.
Despite his previous success in guiding them to promotion in the NPFL.
Abdullahi Biffo, the new coach, is tasked with ensuring the club’s NPFL status for the upcoming season.

After the game, Biffo said, “The task is not that too difficult because if you look at the log, their destiny is still in their hands.
They just need to win their home matches and forget about all these problems and maybe next season, we can now strategize and plan better.”
