EkohotBlog reports that Kwara State government led by Governor AbdulRazaq Abdulrahman has not paid salaries of Special Constabulary Policemen since the recruitment.

This was disclosed by Just Event Online, according to them, a member of the Constabulary Force wrote a letter to them on anonymity. Our reporter gathered that the State government was alleged of failing to pay the Constabulary Force since their recruitment.
The letter reds “Please we would like you to help us published our issue online, it is closing to 6 months now we have been recruited and the state government has not discussed anything about our salary even though they didn’t capture or collected our bank account details for salary.
“We’ve taken series of step to reach the governor to know what is on ground for us, but all the efforts till now still proved abortive, included the letter we sent to his office last month and we haven’t gotten any response till now.
“Before we were recruited they didn’t tell us that we are going for a voluntary job and this job has rendered us useless in our family because we’ve lost our previous source of income since we have joined this job, those who are artisans have lost their customers since we have been in training.
“We just want to plead the state government for attending to our pains, at least some states are responding to their constabulary Police Lagos among others.”
Recall that in May 2021, the Kwara State Government recruited 1056 police special constabularies (community police) that were deployed to their various local governments to strengthen intelligence gathering and security in the state.
