The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has condoled with world heavyweight boxing champion, Anthony Joshua, following the fatal road accident involving him and members of his entourage along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway.
Eko Hot Blog reports that in a condolence message on Monday, Dabiri-Erewa expressed deep sorrow over the tragic incident, which claimed the lives of two aides and close associates of the boxer.

She described the accident as a painful loss, noting that while Joshua sustained injuries and is currently receiving medical care, the deaths of his associates have left families and loved ones devastated.
“I sincerely commiserate with Anthony Joshua over this tragic accident. I pray for his quick recovery and ask God Almighty to grant eternal rest to the souls of the departed and give their families, as well as Joshua, the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss,” she said.
Meanwhile, a joint statement issued by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun said both state governments are closely monitoring the situation.

The governors assured that Anthony Joshua and his driver are receiving the best possible medical care, adding that all relevant agencies have been directed to provide the necessary support following the incident.
The accident, which occurred on the busy Lagos–Ibadan highway, has continued to attract widespread reactions, with calls for renewed emphasis on road safety and strict adherence to traffic regulations.
