The Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District, Senator Adetokunbo Mukail Abiru has commiserated with the family of Late Hon. Akeem Akojo whose sudden and shocking demise occurred on Monday 11th January 2020.
Ably represented by his brother, Hon. Rotimi Abiru, and Lawmaker representing Shomolu Constituency II at the Lagos State House of Assembly, he described the activities of Akojo in Tokunbo Abiru Campaign Team (TACT) during the build-up to the recently conducted Lagos East Senatorial bye-election as noteworthy.
” I came to commiserate with the Akojo family, the people of Epe, APC members in the entire of Epe over the loss of a friend, a brother and above all, one of the coordinators and captains of Tokunbo Abiru Campaign team, I have known him for a while but of note are his activities that I saw during the just concluded bye-elections in East Senatorial District of Lagos State
Speaking further, Abiru averred that the most important help that can be rendered to the family he left behind was constant remembrance of deceased in prayers. He noted that no form of assistance supersedes the wishes of Almighty God. He, however, promised that the family he left behind will not be abandoned.
” Hon. Akojo has come, he has seen and conquered and he has returned to the creator. May Almighty Allah grant him Aljanat fridaus. There is nothing that any of us have or can do for the family that will cater than the wish of Almighty God. Its for us to continuously remember Hon. Akojo and his family in our prayers for god’s blessings over his immediate and extended family.
“Some people are looking up to him for something to happen, there are people who he has supported while he was alive.
“We as humans can promise severally, it is also for us to pray to God to give us the enablement for us to continue to remember him even in his death. What I can say is that we will not abandon him, we will not abandon his family and within our possible means, we shall continue to do our best to make life easy for the family “, he said.
On a final note, the distinguished Lawmaker urged people to believe in God as the sole giver and taker of lives. He attested the colouration of the gathering to the fact that Hon Akeem Akojo was loved by his people. He further stated that Hon. Akojo is highly valued and urged everyone to be good stressing the need to be the best so those good things will be said about when they’re no more.
” Believe in God, it is the Almighty that gives and takes. For whatever we might be expecting of the party, it is for us to continue to pray to God to let us achieve our desires when alive. This sitting today is a manifestation as to how loved Hon. Akeem Akojo is.
“You can see the colouration here, I came all the way from Shomolu to represent myself, my family and my brother, the distinguished Senator of the Federal Republic of Lagos East Senatorial District, Senator Tokunbo Abiru.
“It is all because of the value we place on him, on the party and I can not but urge all our youthful ones to continue to do their best because no one knows when the time will come and what is most important is for good things to be said about us when we are no more just like the way we are doing here today “, he stated.
He, however, prayed for the repose of his soul and also committed the families into the hands of Almighty God for the irreparable loss “.
Towards the end of the programme, Hon Segun Olulade on behalf of Senator Tokunbo Abiru announced to the gathering the donation of the sum of 500 Naira to the wife and children he left behind.
