Accident Involving Convoy Of Gombe Gov. Leaves One Dead, Others Injured

At least one person lost his live when the convoy of Inuwa Yahaya, governor of Gombe, suffered a fatal auto mishap.

The deceased is said to be one of the drivers in the convoy.

According to Daily Trust, The accident washappened while the governor was returning to Gombe from Bauchi where he had attended a meeting of the North-east Governors’ Forum.

The newspaper reports that the accident was caused by a tyre that burst in motion. Ismaila Uba Misilli, the governor’s director-general of press affairs, was said to be in the vehicle involved in the mishap.

The driver of the vehicle simply identified as Malam Babangida was said to have lost control of the vehicle and lost his life in the process while the other occupants sustained injuries.

Those in the ill-fated vehicle, the newspaper said, were identified as Misilli, Umar Mahmud Gwani of GMC TV, Mohammed Adamu Osama, his cameraman and Malam Auwal, a photographer.

This incident comes four days after the convoy of Bala Mohammed, governor of Bauchi state, was involved in a road accident.

About 10 police officers sustained injury in the crash.
