Mr. Macaroni, a well-known Nigerian comedian and activist, has explained why he refuses to engage with the Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
This came after an X user, @OyesileJohn, criticized him for ignoring the governor. The user wrote: “To d’ifa fun a certain Macaroni who, in an attempt to please the mob, snubbed the governor of Lagos state. Omo ase.”
The post sparked reactions online, with many supporting Mr. Macaroni for standing by his beliefs.
In response, Mr. Macaroni made it clear on his account that he has no plans to acknowledge Governor Sanwo-Olu.
“I will continue to ignore your governor. He means nothing to me, just like you and your father. I love that you people keep bringing this up. Each time you do, I will remind you of this,” he said.
Explaining his reasons, Mr. Macaroni recounted how he was humiliated and tortured by the government during a protest.
“They stripped me naked, beat me, and dehumanized me. In detention, I was told to stop disturbing the governor,” he shared.
He emphasized that he would never associate with a government responsible for such treatment.
