American comedian-actor, Tracy Morgan and wife Megan Wollover quit their five-year-old marriage.
The actor confirmed the separation to PEOPLE in a statement released through his spokesperson on Wednesday, July 29.
Morgan added that he and Megan have filed for a divorce, and noted that their privacy should be respected.
The statement read: “Sadly, after nearly five years of marriage, Megan and I are filing for divorce. This is a challenging time for all involved, so I ask that you please respect our privacy,”
“We can confirm that Megan filed for divorce yesterday,” a rep for Wollover says in a statement. “This is a private matter for the family. Megan’s primary focus remains the best interest of the parties’ daughter. She asks that the family’s privacy be respected during this difficult time.”

Tracy Jamel Morgan is an American actor, voice actor and comedian, best known as a cast member on Saturday Night Live and 30 Rock.
He was nominated for an Emmy Award in 2009 for his work on 30 Rock. He has appeared in numerous films as an actor and voice actor.
Tracy, 51, and Megan, 33, got engaged on the Emmys red carpet in September 2012 and tied the knot in August 2015. The couple has a seven-year-old daughter, Maven Sonae.
The actor-comedian also has three adult sons Gitrid, 34, Malcolm, 32, and Tracy Jr., 28, with ex-wife Sabina Morgan.
