Obot Etuk graduated from the University of Calabar with a Bachelors’s degree in Theatre Arts and started acting in NTA Aba in the early 90s. Her first movie was Retribution which was subsequently followed by Battle of Musanga.
Over the years, she acted in a couple of movies. At the height of her career, she had a much-publicized affair with the late Ernest Asuzu despite being much older than him.
In an interview by Yes International Magazine some years ago, Ernest said he was tired of the relationship and returned everything the actress bought for him to her house in Festac, Lagos, EKO HOT BLOG gathered.
He said she begged him, but he refused, saying he didn’t want to continue living a sinful life.
After their relationship crashed, they went their separate ways. Ernest got married to his wife, Jennifer.
But since he broke up with Etuk, his career nosedived, and there were speculations that the actress might have a hand in his misfortune because he was alleged to have broken her heart and needed to pacify her. But Ernest refuted it in the interview, saying he never broke her heart.
According to reports, Ernest and Etuk did not reconcile before he passed away. Etuk, who took a long break from acting, is now a Senior Pastor at Redeem Christian Church of God (RCCG); however, she still works occasionally.
