Address Challenges Of Governance- Deputy Gov. Tyoden

The Deputy Governor of Plateau State, Prof. Sonni Tyoden has said that Nigeria is not ripe for state Police,also said that the challenges of governance had to be strictly addressed.
Tyoden made this known while speaking at the colloquium tagged: ‘Insecurity in Nigeria and Agitations for Restructuring’, organised by the NUJ, Plateau Council, as part of its activities to mark its 2019 Press Week, in Jos, the State Capital.
He said: “addressing the challenges of governance, would help in addressing the problem of insecurity.

“We have not been able to handle our diversities maturely and this is a major threat to the success of state policing. Nigeria is not yet mature for the adoption of state police.”
Meanwhile, A Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Prof. Dakas CJ Dakas said that state policing as a restructuring approach would be successful if the multicultural and religious sensibilities of people were incorporated into the state’s security architecture.
“Failure to incorporate our complexities will make people suspect the security recipe”, he said.
