Adeshina Adebowale Officially Ascends Throne As Omola Of Odomola Kingdom

Eko Hot Blog reports that His Royal Majesty, Oba Adeshina Sulaimon Adebowale, bearing the title Ariran Akenre 2, has been formally coronated as the Omola of Odomola Kingdom, Epe Division, Lagos State.

He was among the Obas recently presented with the instruments of appointment and staff of office by the Lagos State government.

The monarch was coronated in a momentous ceremony on Saturday.

This coronation, which commenced about a week ago, included the Ipebi, a cultural rite that involved Oba Adebowale’s isolation for several days before the apex of the coronation ceremony.

The coronation was attended by various monarchs and dignitaries, who offered prayers and blessings for the new Omola of Odomola kingdom and the prosperity of the kingdom.

Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye, the Chairman of Eredo LCDA and the chief host of the occasion, delivered the opening speech, expressing gratitude to all present for honouring Oba Adebowale.

The royal fathers of the day, HRM Oba Kamorudeen Ishola Animashaun, the Oloja of Epe, and HRM Oba Babatunde Ola Ogunlaja, Aladeshonyin of Odo-Noforija Kingdom, shared words of wisdom and blessed the new Omola.

Oba Ogunlaja urged Oba Adebowale to ensure that his reign is characterised by wisdom, justice, and unwavering dedication to the betterment of Odomola, while urging his people to provide him with all the support he needs.

“As one of the royal fathers of the day, I want to take a moment to remind HRM Oba Adeshina Sulaimon Adebowale of the sacred responsibilities that come with this esteemed title. You are now the custodian of our culture, our heritage, and the welfare of our people. Your reign must be characterized by wisdom, justice, and unwavering dedication to the betterment of Odomola,” the monarch said.

“Chiefs and members of the community, let us remember that we are all integral to the progress and prosperity of this kingdom. Our collective efforts are what will uplift Odomola and ensure that it continues to thrive. Let us work together, hand in hand, to support and uplift our new king as he takes on this noble role.

“I implore all of us to embrace unity, togetherness, and cooperation in the pursuit of Odomola’s development. Our king needs our guidance, and we, in turn, need his leadership. Together, we can achieve great things, preserve our culture, and ensure a bright future for our beloved kingdom.”

In his inaugural speech as the Omola of Odomola Kingdom, Oba Adebowale expressed gratitude to the Obas, dignitaries, and the community, promising not to fail his people.

“Today, I stand before you with profound gratitude in my heart. I am deeply honored and humbled by the trust and confidence you have placed in me as the Omola of Odomola Kingdom. This is a responsibility that I do not take lightly, and I am committed to serving this kingdom and its people with all my heart,” he said.

“I want to express my heartfelt thanks to the Aladeshonyin of Odo Noforija Kingdom, HRM Oba Babatunde Ola Ogunlaja, and all the royal fathers who graced this occasion with their presence and blessings. Your wisdom and support are invaluable, and I promise to heed your guidance as I embark on this journey.

“As we celebrate today, let us remember that the strength of our kingdom lies in our unity. Let us work together, hand in hand, to preserve our culture, uplift our people, and ensure a bright future for Odomola Kingdom.

“Once again, I am profoundly thankful for this opportunity to serve as your Omola. With your support and the blessings of the Almighty, I am confident that we will lead Odomola to new heights. Thank you, and may God bless our beloved kingdom.”

Thereafter, the newly crowned monarch led the jubilant gathering in traditional dances, celebrating their rich cultural heritage.

The rhythmic tunes of legendary musician Dr. Haruna Ishola filled the air as the Obas and dignitaries joined in the jubilant celebration, marking a memorable and joyous coronation of the new Omola of Odomola Kingdom.

A representative of the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Kadir Hamzat, was one of the dignitaries who graced the occasion.
