Adeyemi Federal University of Education (AFUED), Ondo, has conferred honorary doctorate degrees on Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Osemawe of Ondo Kingdom, Oba Victor Kiladejo, and renowned African Studies scholar, Prof. Toyin Falola of the University of Texas at Austin, USA, have also been honoured by the institution.

The honorary doctorate degree was conferred during the institution’s maiden convocation ceremony since its transition to a full-fledged university.

Engr. Kayode Olubunmi Ojo, who was recently appointed Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), received the award on behalf of Senator Tinubu.
Ojo, while receiving the award, expressed deep appreciation on behalf of the First Lady to the university’s management and governing council.
He, therefore, urged the graduating students to apply the knowledge they had acquired for the betterment of society.
Ojo further assured the university that it would be duly recognised and included in President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
At the ceremony, over 12,000 graduates were conferred with various degrees and certificates.
A total of 51 students earned First Class honours, 3,090 graduated with Second Class Upper Division, 6,805 with Second Class Lower, 2,087 with Third Class, and 154 with Pass degrees.
