Again, Suspected Fulani Herdsmen Attack Farmer In Oyo

  • Again, suspected Fulani herdsmen have reportedly attacked a farmer in Oyo State.

A farmer in Ibarapa area of Oyo State, Kaptain Kaston, has been attacked by suspected Fulani herdsmen.

EKO HOT BLOG gathered that the latest attack by the Fulani herdsmen occurred in Idiyan, a village near Igangan in Ibarapa North Local Government Area of Oyo State.

It was learnt that the 28-year-old Kaston was attacked by the herders near his farm on Friday.

The farmer was said to have been ordered not to tell anybody that he was attacked, and he agreed with them.

However, it was gathered that the suspected Fulani herdsmen were convinced that he would disclose their ethnic origin as they reportedly shot him on the shoulder.

A source further disclosed that the farmer was also injured with a cutlass in some parts of his body.

Confirming the incident, the Convener of Igangan Development Advocates, Oladiran Oladokun, said, “The farmer was reportedly attacked by three criminal Fulani men around his farm at Abojukopo area of ldiyan.

“The victim, who was brutally attacked, was asked never to tell anyone that his attackers are Fulani, and he agreed to cooperate with them. Unfortunately, they were not convinced and decided to injure Kaptain Kaston, Benin Republic, with a cutlass.

“The farmer was later shot by one of the terrorists on the shoulder after inflicting injuries on his body,” he said.

The Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso, could not be reached for comment as of the time of writing this report.
