- “We believe that with the level of security measures we have put in place, we are sure that we will rescue them…”
Unknown gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted no fewer than four farmers in Ekiti State.
EKO HOT BLOG gathered that the gunmen had also demanded N50 million ransom to release the abducted farmers.
Sources disclosed that the victims were kidnapped in Ikosu Farm Settlement in Ikosu-Ekiti, Moba Local Government Area on Monday evening.
The manager of the farm, Mr. Olawumi Ayodeji, while speaking on the latest abduction in Ado-Ekiti on Tuesday, disclosed that the abductors had made calls, demanding for N50 million ransom to secure the release of the kidnapped farmers.
As gathered by EKO HOT BLOG, the latest abduction was confirmed by the Ekiti State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP. Sunday Abutu, noting that the command had deployed policemen to comb the sprawling forest surrounding Ikosun-Ekiti up to the Kwara border.

The police spokesperson, who denied knowledge of the N50 million ransom, said, “We are not aware of any ransom being demanded from the family, rather, our men are in the bush working hard to rescue the farmers.
“We are working in conjunction with the Amotekun Corps and local hunters.
“We believe that with the level of security measures we have put in place, we are sure that we will rescue them, and probably get the perpetrators of this dastardly act,” Abutu stated.
