Age Is The Major Cause Of Infertility Amongst Women –Expert

An epidemiologic survey says among the various causes of infertility,   88.6% of women had the highest regard.

In the causes of female infertility, menstrual disorders, diseases such as obesity, thyroid diseases, and diabetes contribute largely.

According to Medical News, the most common cause of female infertility is ovulation disorder which can also lead to premature ovarian failure.

Doctor Fashoro, CEO of Life Care Hospital highlighted some of the factors contributing to infertility among women.

He said age is a common cause of  infertility because as a woman grows older, her fertility is likely to decrease.

He noted the intake of illegal drugs such as cocaine, marijuana, which could also damage the uterus and could result to infertility among females.

He  buttressed on the  part of the male folks, saying “Infections like gonorrhea, diabetes,  premature ejaculation  causes infertility among the male and usually affects the quality of the sperm”.

Unfortunately, some cases of infertility cannot be corrected.

In a situation where spontaneous pregnancy doesn’t happen, couples can often still achieve a pregnancy through use of assisted reproductive technology.

Infertility treatment may involve significant financial, physical, psychological and time commitments.
