Eko hot blog reports that The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) mourns the passing of Nollywood actor, Junior Pope, as the National President, Emeka Rollas, confirms the tragic news.
Rollas took to Instagram to express his sorrow, revealing the details surrounding the actor’s untimely demise.
He shared, “It is so so sad that our joy was short-lived, My first post was out of excitement when we noticed his tingling fingers.
Two notable hospitals tried their best to revive him but to no avail. God knows the best, We finally lost him,” encapsulating the somber atmosphere within the industry.
Junior Pope, known for his roles as a versatile actor, rose to fame in 2007 after his breakthrough performance in the Nollywood blockbuster “Secret Adventures.”
Over the years, he portrayed various characters in more than 150 movies, including roles as a bodyguard, palace attendant, and villain.
In recognition of his talent and contribution to the industry, Junior Pope received several awards, including the Nollywood Most Promising Actor in Nigeria at the Entertainment Factory Awards in 2010.
He also clinched awards for Best Actor in a Supporting Role at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards and Best Actor of the Year at the Africa Movie Academy Awards.
His passing marks a significant loss in the Nollywood community, leaving behind a legacy of remarkable performances and unforgettable contributions to the Nigerian film industry.
