Agoro Kicks Off HOS Games 2024
Lagos State Head of Service, Bode Agoro has launched the annual HOS Games at the Lagos State University College of Medicine Sports Area, emphasizing the importance of sportsmanship, camaraderie, physical fitness, and mental wellness among public servants.
The state government prioritizes staff welfare, and this year’s games feature new additions – Walk-For-Fitness and Draught.
Agoro highlighted the significance of civil servants’ physical and mental well-being for enhanced productivity and service delivery, benefiting all Lagos residents.
Winners in male and female categories will receive trophies and gift items, with exceptional talents selected to represent the state in local competitions.

The Vice Chairman, Local Organising Committee, Mr. Richard Ogbe, ensured that only qualified staff participate, with medical teams and security officers present for safety.
All registered staff from various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) are eligible to participate, having been certified medically fit.
Head of the Competition’s Technical Committee, Mr. Ola Okunnu, urged players to adhere to the game’s rules and avoid indiscipline, promoting the spirit of sportsmanship in the state public service.
The first football match saw the Lagos State Sports Commission defeat the Office of Political, Legislative and Civic Engagement 3-0, setting the tone for a thrilling competition.
The HOS Games aim to foster a culture of physical fitness, mental wellness, and sportsmanship among public servants, aligning with the state government’s priorities and commitment to staff welfare.”
