Air Force Involvement In 2019 Election

As the 2019 general election draws closer, the Nigeria Air force has disclosed the plans of their involvement in the next general election by providing the independent electoral commission with aircraft to transport election material and other related logistics.

This was disclosed at Abuja today by the Chief of Air Staff, Air Mashall Sadique Abubakar at the quarterly conference of senior officers and men of the air force. The Chief of Air Staff to remind them that the Air force personnel are expected to stay above partisan politics..

He also reminded the offices present that the goal of the quarterly conference was not only to review the progress made since the last quarterly conference but to assess the performance of the service in the past few months.

He however reiterated the commitment of the Air force to the sovereignty of the nation and that the Air force will continue to work assiduously to deal with an attempt by any group or individuals to undermine the sovereignty of the nation.

He reiterated the commitment of the Air Force to Nonpartisan politics and enjoin them to remain steadfast in the constitutional discharge of their responsibilities.

He concluded by reiterating the objective of the quarterly meeting which is to provide an avenue for review, to sensitize officers about expected synergy with the Independent electoral commission for logistics purposes particularly as it relates to the provision of aircraft to transport election materials and also have a feedback from the officers.
