The event, which was held at the Rwang Pam township stadium in Jos, the Plateau State capital, had many APC stalwarts in attendance as a massive crowd stormed the venue to witness the event.
President Muhammadu Buhari led other party stalwarts including Governors and lawmakers to the campaign ground.
However, following the observation about Osinbajo’s absence at the major party event, the Senior Special Assistant to the Vice President on Media and Publicity, Laolu Akande, has explained the reason for his principal’s absence.
According to Akande, Vice President Osinbajo is representing President Buhari at the global conference on world tourism holding in Lagos State.
The media aide in a Twitter statement on Tuesday wrote: “VP Osinbajo is in Lagos today representing Mr. President as Special Guest of Honour to receive and join the Secretary General of the UN World Tourism Organisation Mr. Zurab Pololikashvili at the global conference for promotion & linking together of tourism & creative industries.”
