Following the escalation of violent clashes between Ode and Isingbo communities in Akure North Local Government Area, the Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu has imposed a dusk-to-dawn curfew on the affected communities.
Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Donald Ojogo, who announced this in a statement issued on Friday, said the curfew takes immediate effect.
Ojogo added that Akeredolu also ordered a manhunt for perpetrators of the despicable violence just as investigations are already on to ascertain the cause(s).
“With respect to the curfew, security agencies have been directed to ensure total compliance with the order.

“Ode and Isinigbo communities have since been closed down for any unauthorised human movement and activity until further notice,” he said.
Eko Hot Blog earlier reported that the traditional ruler of Isingbo community, Oba Samuel Fadahunsi was hospitalised after the communal clash between Isingbo and Ode communities escalated on Friday as some hoodlums attacked Isinigbo community.
The palace of the traditional ruler of the community, including many other houses and properties were destroyed in the clash.
