“Aki and Pawpaw” Remake To Premier At Cinema On December 17

Ekohotblog reports that the remake of Nigerian family comedy film Aki and Pawpaw will premier at the cinema on December 17.

Filmone Entertainment, the Nigerian movie studio, made this announcement via their verified Instagram page on Wednesday.

The movie will see Chinedu Ikedieze (Aki) and Osita Iheme (Pawpaw) rehash their roles as hilarious brothers Aki and Pawpaw.

Biodun Stephen has also been confirmed as the director of the remake.

“They came into our lives 19 years ago; our resident Nollywood troublemakers remain the gift that never stopped giving! From Alaba to the big screens, your favourite duo redefine comedy in this holiday blockbuster Aki and PawPaw The Movie in cinemas from December 17th! Save the date. A Play Network Studios and Film One Entertainment Production. Director: Biodun Stephen,” the post reads.

Other cast members include Toyin Abraham, Amaechi Muonagor, Anita Asuoha (Real Warri Pikin), Uti Nwachukwu, Stan Nze, MC Lively, Beverly Osu, Juliet Ibrahim, Hanks Anuku and Chioma Okafor.

The remake of the movie was first revealed in May when Ikedieze and Iheme shared an Instagram conversation about dropping the new project.

Aki and Pawpaw was the movie that launched the acting career of Chinedu Ikedie and Osita Iheme. The film also marked their maiden collaboration.
